Missions IMPACT! – PowerPlant
Posted by Geoff Baggett in Uncategorized

PowerPlant is a student missions initiative of the North American Mission Board. The mission of PowerPlant is to train students in evangelism and church planting. Students are gathered in strategic cities with ongoing church planting efforts. They are given basic classroom instruction. Then they are partnered with church planters and church planting volunteers to support the work of a local plant for a one-week period. This year there are projects in nineteen cities throughout North America.
Ultimately, the strategy behind PowerPlant is the prayerful hope that some of the students will discern God’s call to plant new churches. Even if they do not go into vocational church planting, they are encouraged to seek out new church plants during their college and adult years and volunteer for service.
Roger Ferrell and I previously served as Project Coordinators and Church Planting Trainers for the PowerPlant team. These are good people, and it is an excellent strategy. Give their web site a look and consider taking your teen-agers to the missions edge next summer.
