Missions IMPACT! – Crossroads Partnership Team Deploys Today
Posted by Geoff Baggett in Uncategorized
I thought I might share a brief word on something that is going on in my church.
Crossroads Fellowship has entered into a four-year partnership through the REAP North team of the International Mission Board in Peru. We have adopted a people group in a remote area of the Andes Mountains. They are called the Panao Quechua people. The goal of our partnership is to work toward facilitating an indigenous church planting movement among this minimally evangelized people group.
Our first-ever team departs this morning at 06:00. They will return next Sunday afternoon. We are calling them our “Scout Team.” They are responsible for scouting out the Pachitea Province, locating (and plotting GPS waypoints) for all of the settlements, meeting community leaders, prayer walking, and making ambassadorial contacts. One other key task they must perform is selecting four locations for veterinary teams to visit during the last week in March.
We are VERY excited about this partnership and strategy. Our church has really embraced the hands-on responsibility of reaching an entire people group with the Gospel. I anticipate that over the next four years we will mobilize 70-80 adults from our church (current total membership of 140) to the international field. That is VERY exciting!
Here is a picture of our five-man “Scout Team.” Their names are (l to r) Tulsa “Tud” Lewis, Jeff Hunter, Kevin Terrell, Kegan Davis, and Matt Ladd. If you have a chance, please remember them in your prayers today and throughout the week.

Wow! They look like they are already having fun for the Lord!! Talk about making an impact on the world.
I went to Poland for 3 weeks about five years ago. Your post today made me hunger to take part in foreign missions again. It’s just a different kind of blessing.
Praying for your Scout Team and your church as they undertake this endeavor.
Karen,
Many thanks. I got your note. Will respond ASAP. I’ve been gone all day, and have some prep I have to get done for tomorrow.
Geoff
